Community Grants available to support domestic abuse projects

GRANTS of up to £200 and £1000 are available to support community projects and activities in Tameside to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Community groups and organisations are being invited to apply for the funding, which is being offered by Tameside Council working in partnership with Action Together.

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone. It negatively impacts upon the health and wellbeing of those who are living with or have experienced domestic abuse as well as their children/families.

The grants aim to support projects and activities which:

Tameside Council Executive Member for Population Health Cllr Eleanor Wills said: “It is important that we provide the best possible care and support to those who are affected by domestic abuse and we’re committed to proactively working in partnership with local communities and organisations to create communities where people can easily access the information and support they need within their local community.

“We’ve worked closely with local people who are living with or have experienced domestic abuse to develop this grant and their views and feedback have helped to shape our focus on the kinds of projects and activities we want this funding to support.”

The application deadline is 7 August 2022. To be eligible to apply, an organisation must be based in Tameside, be a VCFSE (Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise) organisation/ group and a member of Action Together – you can find out how to become a member for free by emailing development@actiontogether.org.uk
